What’s Coming Next in Moveit: A Smoother Relocation Experience
The Moveit team tirelessly works towards making the moving and relocation process as simple as possible. With shared customer feedback and extensive user-experience research, we have realized that our current flow of the Moveit App is somehow overwhelming for users who were either moving a few items or relocating their entire space. We aim to design a relocation service that serves different needs more intuitively. We’re excited to introduce two distinct streams in our relocation feature, set to launch soon.
The Challenges with the Old Flow
Initially, users had a singular flow to follow, regardless of moving a few items or relocating entire spaces. As a result of this users may find it confusing to choose every item and space altogether.
Among the main difficulties users encountered were:
- Overwhelming Options: Users had to navigate everything at once under the previous approach, which gathered all the spaces and items together. This complicated the process, especially for individuals who needed to scroll through a long list to shift a small number of items.
- Cluttered Navigation: Attempting to move both individual items and entire spaces single-handedly, resulted in chaos and confusion, which triggered users—especially those looking for fast-moving solutions.
We took note of your feedback and realized that streamlining and simplifying the approach for various move types was necessary to enhance user experience.
Updated Relocation Flow – Dual but Simple Streams
Catering these challenges, we’ve worked hard to develop an improved flow. The upcoming Moveit relocation flow will offer two distinct streams—one for users who need to move just a few items and another for those relocating entire spaces. This change is designed to make navigation more easy to operate the flow and enhance the user-experience.
1. Moving a Few Items
To move a few specific items, the process will be much simpler now:
- Item Selection: You will be presented with a list of categories and individual items, allowing you to quickly choose the ones you want to relocate. This eliminates the need to scroll through an entire household’s worth of belongings. You can also search directly by names within the same screen.
- Streamlined Services: Just like before, you will have the option to add services like packaging, assembly/disassembly, AC installation/uninstallation, and LED installation/uninstallation. However, the new flow ensures these options are tailored to smaller moves, making the process much quicker and easier.
- Insurance Options: If needed, you can still insure your selected items, providing peace of mind for your valuable belongings.
2. Moving an Entire Space
For users looking to relocate entire homes or offices(spaces), Moveit App now offers a more structured and comprehensive experience:
- Space Selection: Instead of selecting individual items first, you’ll begin by choosing which spaces you want to relocate. Whether it’s a single room, a couple of rooms, or just the kitchen or lounge, this step makes planning large moves more manageable.
- Add Items: Once you select the spaces, you can further customize the move by adding individual items that weren’t initially listed, making sure no important belongings are left out. This is an optional step you can choose to skip.
- Extensive Services: Alongside the core services, you can select additional services like packaging, disassembly, and electrician or carpenter support to assist with the more technical aspects of your move.
- Insurance Coverage: Moving an entire space means more valuables, which is why we offer insurance for large-scale relocations.
How Users Will Benefit from This
These two new streams are designed to significantly improve the user experience in several ways:
- Customized Navigation: With a separate flow for small and large moves, users will no longer be overwhelmed by unnecessary options. They’ll see only what’s relevant to their needs.
- Easy Booking Process: Users can now quickly choose their items or spaces, add additional services, and finalize the move without having to sift through long lists of irrelevant details.
- Improved Arranging: By breaking down the relocation process into smaller, more manageable steps, users can navigate the app more easily and feel confident that their move will be well-organized.
